Things you pick up or eat off the floor now fly up into the hands of whoever took them, so you can see who grabbed what.
v0.5.0
New
Your health is now always on screen, as a bar with the numbers on it: at the top of the sidebar, or right under the world on a phone. A hit leaves a white trail that drains after it, a heal shows a white stretch that fills in, and the bar's border flashes red when you are close to death.
A spell whose target is out of range no longer greys out while you can walk to them: press it and you walk into range and cast when you get there. It only greys out when there is no way to get close enough.
Fixes
Following someone you are attacking now stops as soon as your weapon reaches them, so a bow keeps its distance instead of walking you into melee.
v0.4.0
New
Hovering something you cannot use right now shows why, in grey, where its action used to be, such as "Needs *10" or "No room". Clicking it tells you the same thing instead of doing nothing, walking over first if it is out of reach.
What a shopkeeper says now types out letter by letter; tap the conversation to see it all at once. On a phone, conversation buttons are bigger and further apart, and each item in a trade shows a magnifier: hold it to see what the item does.
The game's menu now has a What's new button that lists every release and the day it came out. The menu shows a dot when there is a release you have not read yet, until you open it. The changelog page on the website shows each release's date too.
Some quest chests now ask for a rating before they open. Until you reach it, the chest still shows its Open action, greyed out, with the rating it needs beside it. A chest you have no bag room for now shows the same way, marked "no room", instead of disappearing from the list.
Trading with a shopkeeper now has a Max button beside + and −, which sets the amount to as many as you can pay for and carry.
Fixes
Food that creatures and townsfolk carry no longer goes off while they hold it, so a deer that has roamed for days still drops fresh meat.
v0.3.0
New
A skull is now heavy enough to hold down a pressure plate, so you can open the cyclops door on your own by leaving a skull on the plate.
There is now an Items page, linked from the front page, listing every item in the game with what it does and where to get it: which shop sells it and for how much, what crafts it, and which creatures drop it. You can search it and filter by type, element and where an item comes from.
The home page now shows the three highest-rated characters alive. The first of them is king, until they die or somebody passes them, and wears a crown beside their name in the game.
A silver chest in the town square is now your own depot: what you put in it is yours alone, shared by every character on your account, and still there after you die. On a phone, opening it opens your bag beside it so you can drag between the two.
Fixes
Picking things up, equipping, eating, talking and using things now work the moment you arrive, instead of waiting for the server to catch up with your last step.
Something you drop or throw onto a tile where somebody is standing, yourself included, now lands at their feet instead of on top of their head.
On an iPhone, tapping the chat box, the feedback box or the save-character form no longer zooms the game in and leaves it stuck that way.
On an iPhone, the last choice in a conversation or crafting panel no longer sits under Safari's tab bar, so you can reach the Trade and Cancel buttons again.
On an iPhone, the last thing in your reach list no longer sits under Safari's tab bar.
What you say now appears over your head the moment you send it, instead of after a trip to the server and back.
The chest past the tutorial portal now gives you Spark instead of Light, so you start with a stone that does damage and levels Arcane far faster.
v0.2.0
New
The cyclops now fights back. Stay close and it stomps the ground, hurting and dazing everyone nearby, so get clear when it lifts a foot. Wound it badly and it flies into a rage, running faster than you can.
The stone forge makes seven new stones from two top-rung stones: Inferno, Shatter and Overgrowth burst around you, Stomp shakes the ground like the cyclops, and Berserk, Crystallise and Blossom put you in a fighting stance. Pyre, Rime and Bramble now hit their target for less and leave their mark on everyone close to it.
Mining crystals now earns experience in a new Mining mastery, and each level makes mining faster. Picking berries is quicker the higher your Agility.
Death is now final. When you die you drop everything you carried and wore, your skills start over, and you come back in the tutorial as the next of your line: Wren I returns as Wren II, and everybody sees the number. Respawn points are gone.
Things you put on the floor are now tossed there from your hands, and a creature's loot hops up out of the spot where it fell, so you can see who dropped what.
Fixes
The wooden box over the hole now has a patch of dirt beside it, so you can see where it can be pushed.
A box pushed onto a floor it cannot slide on now stays put instead of dropping through the floor to the level below.
The cyclops now stands two levels tall, as tall as it looks. It no longer fits under a roof or through a doorway with a wall above it.
Rabbits can now drop a skin and deer can drop extra raw meat. Both were meant to carry them, but the items were packed where they could never fit.
You can no longer mine, open, push or pick up something a whole floor above or below you. Falling into a hole beside a crystal now leaves it out of reach until you climb back out.
The cave troll's Ember breath now looks like fire: a flame swells out of its mouth, trails smoke across the cave and bursts into embers where it lands, instead of flying over as a blue crystal. It also takes twice as long to draw breath, and hitting the troll no longer stops it, so get out of its reach instead.
v0.1.0
New
Read every release's changes at thelaststones.com/changelog, linked from the bottom of the home page.
Things a few steps away now show in the interaction list as well. Pressing one walks you over and does it.
The bag, equipment and stats buttons now flash when something changes while their panel is closed: a new item, something equipped, a new effect (red if it hurts you, green if it helps) or a mastery level. The game's interface now uses the same pixel font as the names in the world, and items you just carry are now called objects.
Each release now comes with a list of what changed in it.
Fixes
The game's buttons and action icons are now pixel art, to match the pixel font and the world.
On a phone, names, damage numbers, speech and notices over the world are now half the size, so they cover less of the view.
